Apparatus for treating a substrate containing a device for emitting and delivering energy to the substrate, a programmable controller for varying the type and/or amount of energy emitted, and apparatus for sensing a condition of the substrate where the energy emitted by the apparatus comprises at least a part of the spectra of a desired energy pattern and contains at least a major peak and a minor peak.
