Tip for Nanoscanning
Electron Microscope
Tip for Nanoscanning Electron Microscope
This issued patent and multiple patents pending provide
a means of improving
the resolution, as well as the ability for nanomanipulation, of Scanning
Electron Microscopes. A carbon (or other) nanotube is used to create
the
Meissner Effect and narrow the flow of electrons through the tip. While
the
use of carbon nanotube tips is common, this particular approach holds
the
potential for a substantial improvement in resolution, as well as the
ability to use the SEM for moving and manipulating materials at the
nanoscale.
