Overview

The prevalence and success of implantable devices continues to grow.  Improvements in the length of life and capacity of an implantable device can enhance health care by reducing or eliminating the need to replace power systems and the need to recharge these systems.

Biomed Solutions technology utilizes electrorestrictive materials to convert body heat into electricity for the purpose of powering small biomedical devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.  Our approach is totally biocompatible and matches the thermal and electrical impedance of the device to the application in a way that permits a practical implanted power source.
